About JAMU, Meet Kim Collier, founder of JAMU Asian Spa Rituals (DBA: JAMU & Organic Spa Rituals)

"JAMU" translates as herbal remedies used internally and externally for health and beauty."

Meet Kim Collier, the founder of JAMU Asian Spa Rituals (DBA: JAMU & Organic Spa Rituals.). She has mindfully built a company with a mission to preserve indigenous customs and carry on the inspiration of Asia. JAMU is the essence of ten years of hands-on spa consultation and experience in Southeast Asia in 1990's, along with extensive continued study and documentation of herbal healing and natural wellness.

The cultures of Asia are a kaleidoscope of native influences, steeped in spiritual traditions, ancestrally focused and time-honoring. Bali and the Asian Pacific Rim are uniquely alive, actively celebrating their traditions, and offering to the world the benefits of these distinctive experiences.

JAMU blends exotic ingredients and celebrates traditions to create a cross-cultural experience through spa products and treatment rituals.

Our products are made naturally from nourishing recipes, are animal and cruelty free, and are both organic and biodegradable. A portion of profits are donated to charities and non-profits as part of our conscious retail values. If that's not enough, JAMU has been awarded a "Champion Company" status, which is the top rating for cosmetic product safety through the 'Campaign for Safe Cosmetics', and Kim recognized as a top trendsetter in the spa industry.
We wish you joy, peace and balance and welcome you to enjoy daily wellness rituals with JAMU & Organic Spa Rituals too!

KIM COLLIER - JAMU Founder, Organic Spa Rituals

Collaborator. Community Builder. Entrepreneur.

When your very first business has you giving massage and private yoga sessions to Sting, John Denver, INXS and Peter Frampton, you can’t help but fall in love with the music and spa industries. The candle on that flame has not flickered, only grown stronger through personal triumphs and professional achievements that have Kim Collier looking enthusiastically ahead to her next chapters.

If Collier’s name sounds familiar, it’s because she and her husband Cary Collier have been working in the wellness field together since 1987, and are a force to acknowledge. She has been a business manager for JAMU, Blu Spas Inc., Collier Concepts as well as an established massage therapist, educator and healing arts advocate. Since founding JAMU in 1993, in Bali, Indonesia, her products and services have received national acclaim from Vogue, Forbes, Organic Spa, O, The Oprah Magazine and more. Her love of jamu – Indonesian healing therapies trace back to her travels to and from Southeast Asia, to Hong Kong, where she married her husband in 1990. Eight years of living in Southeast Asia is what Collier refers to their “adventurous working honeymoon”.  The couple moved to Whitefish, Montana, in 2000, and are proud parents to two grown daughters.

Her beginnings as a professional dancer in Dallas, Texas and owner of “Health Arts” business which offered spa and wellness services to the touring music industry were the foundations that fueled her grace, ease, confidence, and joie de vive – all attributes that keep her focused and en pointe.

As the wellness industry continues to grow and evolve, so too does Kim’s passion for cultivating health through spa experiences.  Her latest business venture will bring Balinese and herbal healing techniques to massage rooms around the world in a unique partnership with some of the industry’s most innovative product lines. Music, meditation, vibrational healing, herbal remedies and Balinese massage will all be part of spa and wellness experiences she is hand-crafting for companies such as Saltability, Rainshadow and JAMU Spa School.

In turn, these services are available for implementation to day spas, resort spas, destination spas and will eventually find their way into the lives of spa-goers and health seekers. Additionally, she will also be involved in business development and presentation of these collaborations and become a “brand ambassador” and educator for these companies. These services will incorporate Bali inspired protocol and also have one major caveat – every service co-created will have a Give Back component. A percentage of the product revenue will be donated to a non-profit organization that Collier specifies. Some of her favorite charities include OCEANA, Bumi Sehat, UNICEF and Do It For The Love.

As much of an educator as a student, Collier collaborates with Jamu Traditional Spa School in Bali and is currently completing Holistic Health & Energy Medicine Yoga Practitioner Programs and recently certified as educator in Strong by Zumba.

The next 10 years look bright for this enterprising spa aficionado as one of her goals is to work and travel at a balanced pace, finding interesting and inspiring companies to support and collaborate for the greater good. ...And who knows when Sting might show up again for a repeat performance. Something Collier would welcome with open arms, and always, a grateful heart.
