About Kim Collier - JAMU Founder, International Spa Educator & Practitioner, Wellness Experience Planner
When your very first business has you giving massage and private yoga sessions to Sting, John Denver, INXS and Peter Frampton, you can’t help but fall in love with the music and spa industries. The candle on that flame has not flickered, only grown stronger through personal triumphs and professional achievements that have Kim Collier looking enthusiastically ahead to her next chapters.
If Collier’s name sounds familiar, it’s because she and her husband Cary Collier have been working in the wellness field together since 1987, and are a force to acknowledge. She has been involved in business development for JAMU & CollierConcepts as well as an established massage therapist, wellness educator and plant medicine advocate. Since founding JAMU in 1993, in Bali, Indonesia, her products and services have received national acclaim from Vogue, Forbes, Organic Spa, O, The Oprah Magazine and more. Her love of jamu – Indonesian healing therapies trace back to her travels to and from Southeast Asia, to Hong Kong, where she married her husband in 1990. Eight years of living in Southeast Asia is what Collier refers to their “adventurous working honeymoon”. The couple moved to Whitefish, Montana, in 2000, and are proud parents to two grown daughters.
Her beginnings as a professional dancer in Dallas, Texas and owner of “Health Arts” business which offered spa and wellness services to the touring music industry were the foundations that fueled her grace, ease, confidence, and joie de vive – all attributes that keep her focused and en pointe. As the wellness industry continues to grow and evolve, so too does Kim’s passion for cultivating health through spa experiences. Her 2024 business venture and unique partnership will bring JAMU Balinese massage and herbal healing techniques to spas around the world - stay tuned...
Music, meditation, vibrational healing, herbal remedies and Balinese massage will all be part of spa and wellness experiences she is designing.
In turn, these services are available for implementation to day spas, resort spas, destination spas and will eventually find their way into the lives of spa-goers and health seekers.
As much of an educator as a student, Collier is currently working on the new production of Balinese Massage & Spa Rituals curriculum, which will be available in 2024 in three formats : on-line, hybrid & live.
The next 10 years look bright for this enterprising spa aficionado and who knows when Sting might show up again for a repeat performance. Something Collier would welcome with open arms.
And always, a grateful heart.

"I thoroughly enjoyed Kim coming into our spa on Thursday. Very generous and kind of her to offer her time with us! I loved receiving from her. It was a good 'refresher' for myself and not to mention really relaxing yet invigorating. She has wonderful energy and her pressure was spot on, medium to firm. I felt by receiving from Kim I was able to truly understand the concept of the Balinese Waves and also fine tune my abilities to give to my guests. Thank you, Kim! You are truly amazing person and feel so blessed to have been able to be a part of your training!" -- Elizabeth

"I’m so glad I got to experience Kim’s technique. My time with her was extremely helpful and beneficial! It really is an amazing treatment. Feeling it changed my perspective on it. I now see how it’s a great option for those who want deeper pressure. I would perform the correct sequence but she showed me ways to make it more beneficial for the client. And it helped me understand how to set the tone and tempo with the rocking compressions. I think future trainings would really benefit from feeling the techniques from Kim, even if it’s just a couple minutes just to get a proper feel for them. I’m so grateful she took the time to show her guidance and support." -- APRIL
